Well, first of all Hi guys and happy 2016, I can’t believe that it’s nearly March already! I must admit its been a bit of a hectic start to the year but I’m finally settling into it and feel really positive. I don’t know why and have to admit it hasn’t got off to the best of starts but I just feel that it’s going to be a good year.
Anyway, to get to the point of this post, H (the hubby) has been really stressed out about upcoming exams and I came across this meditation for managing school stress by Deepak Chopra on YouTube channel, Somina. The basis of the meditation is not to continuously focus on the end goal, but to focus your attention on the day-by-day tasks that you need to do to achieve the results you want. That is not focusing on the exam itself but on the studying, because if you study well a successful outcome is more or less guaranteed. I think this can be applied not just for studying but for all goals be it advancing careers, becoming healthier or saving for something special. These can sometimes seem like a daunting prospect but focusing on the day-to-day can help to achieve these goals without stressing so much on the end results.
If meditation isn’t really your sort of thing but you’re having similar problems as H it might just be worth watching the first few minutes of the video before it goes into the music, meditation type stuff. H really isn’t into all of that ‘hippy stuff’ as he calls it, but did find the video helpful and watches it when he starts to feel himself getting stressed again.
Well, that’s all for now folks
